Assesses, develops and recommends a treatment plan for patients seeking medical weight loss management. Facilitates and coordinates strategic program planning, development and education as it pertains to the medial weight loss component of NEWMI.

Essential Functions
- Examines patients for comprehensive evaluation to include medical history, medication use, psychosocial factors and behaviors that influence a patient's weight history.
- Performs lab and other diagnostic testing as indicated. Evaluates findings and reviews with patient as appropriate.
- Formulates diagnosis and identifies medical needs based on the evaluation.
- Recommends and designs a treatment plan which may include pharmaceutical, nutritional, behavioral health and exercise intervention.
- Educates patient on plan of care.
- Coordinates plan of care and reviews/collaborates with referring physician, multidisciplinary treatment team and specialty services as needed.
- Monitors the effectiveness of the prescribed plan of care and modifies treatment accordingly.
- Develops protocols, treatment plans and pathways to promote growth of the program and delivery of innovative patient care.
- Provides education to patients, physicians and other members of the multidisciplinary team as it pertains to the Medical Weight Loss patient.
- Participates in overall strategic program planning and development.
Education:
- MD or DO, Completed Residency in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
Experience:
- General inpatient and/or outpatient Internal Medicine or Family Practice experience in addition to extensive experience or fellowship training in Obesity Medicine is preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
- Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine with ABOM certification preferred.
