Emergency Room Registrar (Per Diem Days) - Patient Registration

Who You Are:

Catholic Medical Center is seeking a detail-oriented and professional Patient Registration Representative to join our team. You are is responsible for registration of patients entering the emergency department and other areas of the hospital for outpatient services. You have the ability to gather all demographic and insurance data and input it into medical software. Your commitment to excellent customer service and adherence to confidentiality and privacy standards ensures that patients receive the best care and attention.

What You'll Do:

  • Accurately gather, verify, and input patient demographic and insurance information into the medical software at registration points or bedside.
  • Check for prior medical records to minimize duplication of patient charts.
  • Obtain and process all necessary registration forms, consents, and assignments of benefits.
  • Scan and properly organize identification and insurance documents in the system.
  • Provide federally mandated information to patients (e.g., Patient Rights, Advance Care Directives).
  • Complete Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaires and handle downtime procedures during system outages.
  • Understand various insurance types and ensure accurate data entry to support the Revenue Cycle.
  • Answer phone calls promptly and assist or redirect patients as necessary.


What You'll Bring:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of one year's experience in a healthcare or insurance setting.
  • Basic computer proficiency and knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Strong adherence to patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
  • Exceptional communication skills and a focus on customer service.
