12 openings available. Practice internal medicine in a hospital setting. Care for acute, in-patient adults. Treat patients across all medical services as attending physicians or medical consult service. This includes following patients: medical/surgical, ICU, PCU, cardiac and vascular, oncology, endocrine, and GI patients. Admit ED patients post triage as required.

Duties:

Engage in direct patient care activities and medical/clinical practice as the principal component of his/her overall professional responsibility within the Department. Patient care activities will include, but are not limited to:

• Admission, assessment, evaluation, diagnostic determination, on-going treatment and clinical management, necessary referral for consultation, care planning and modification, medications/therapeutic orders, transfer authorization, risk assessment, and, when appropriate, determination of readiness and planning for discharge for inpatients at Catholic Medical Center.

• Direct contact and consultation with patients and when permitted, with family members, friends, advocates, and others to ensure effective communication of patient status and care plans.

• Appropriate and on-going communications with ambulatory primary care physicians who routinely manage the care of patients currently in the hospital.

• Day-to-day patient contact/rounding/care management that actively encourages and includes input from all members of the patient care team.

• Accurate and timely completion of all clinical and professional records and documentation to assure optimal patient care and compliance with local, state and federal regulatory, licensure and accreditation requirements.

• Work to create a positive work culture within cross-departmental teams and align this work with other Hospital Medicine initiatives.

• Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

• Work schedule includes weekend shifts.

Requirements

• M.D. or D.O. degree

• Completion of residency in Internal Medicine

In lieu of residency in Internal Medicine, the employer will accept completion of residency in Family Medicine with two (2) years of experience in a hospital setting with ICU experience or one (1) year of fellowship in Hospital Medicine with ICU experience.

• Board Certified or eligible to be certified in Internal or Family Medicine

• Eligibility for NH medical license
