Scheduling Coordinator - Operating Room

As the Scheduling Coordinator for the Operating Room for Catholic Medical Center (CMC), you are a dynamic individual ready to play a crucial role in supporting the clinical functioning of our Operating Room. Your attention to detail and ability to collaborate with team members make you an essential part of our healthcare community.

What You'll Do:

As a Scheduling Coordinator, your responsibilities include:

• Greeting patients/customers promptly and professionally, exceeding their expectations.

• Maintaining harmonious working relationships with everyone within the organization.

• Professionally answering and triaging incoming telephone calls according to established policies.

• Analyzing and interpreting the Operating Room schedule to efficiently schedule the use of facilities, considering surgical procedures and equipment limitations.

• Collaborating with the Clinical Leader to identify special equipment, surgical instruments, and supply requests based on established criteria.

• Coordinating preoperative outpatient interviews, scheduling surgical procedures, and maintaining patient records.

• Managing information in multiple computer systems, creating daily schedules, and performing various typing, data entry, and word processing tasks.

• Updating operating room and medical center manuals, ensuring their availability to operating room staff.

• Maintaining office inventory, completing orders for special supplies, and attending relevant in-service programs and events.

• Obtaining bed placement for scheduled, emergency, and urgent cases.

What You'll Bring:

• High School diploma or equivalent.

• Medical terminology preferred.

• Office experience and customer service relations preferred.
