You take responsibility for the proper decontamination, processing, and sterilization of medical instruments and supplies. What You'll Do:
- Decontaminate, prepare, and sterilize equipment and supplies following Catholic Medical Center and infection control policies.
- Operate and maintain a thorough working knowledge of steam and gas sterilizers, aeration chambers, washer decontaminators, cart washers, and Sterrad systems.
- Assemble hospital-wide instrument trays and label them appropriately.
- Assemble and fill surgical case cart requisitions.
- Respond to telephone requests and record information in an appropriate manner.
- Perform record-keeping for sterilization processes, including steam, gas, Sterrad sterilization records, and biological monitoring records.
- Utilize departmental reference materials and stay updated on current requirements and methods by attending required training and participating in internal seminars and educational programs.
What You'll Bring:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Certified Sterile Processing Technician preferred.
