Who you are:
As a Certified Cardiac Technician in the New England Heart & Vascular Unit, you will perform and provide patient care activities to support patients with Arrhythmia Devices. Support Arrhythmia devices will be done under the direction of a RN or EP provider. Your responsibilities iwill nclude analyzing and reprogramming various brands of pacemakers and defibrillators, analyzing heart rhythms on the telephone, and remote transmissions. You will also analyze and recommend process and quality improvements and additional staff developments.
What you'll bring:
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Course in basic arrhythmia interpretation required.
• 2 years or more experience in Electrophysiology or Cardiology Department 3 or more years experience in Cardiology department preferred.
• Experience with cardiac devices strongly preferred.
• Certification, or accredited training courses for Pacemaker setting changes strongly preferred.
• Proficient in electrocardiogram interpretation including complex arrhythmias.
• Ability to recognize and appropriately treat cardiac device problems under the supervision of the cardiologist.
• Ability to operate and troubleshoot all cardiac device programmers.
• Proficient in anatomy, physiology, the electrical conduction system and cardiac pharmacology.
• Ability to work independently
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
