Certified Nurse Midwife - Women's Wellness Center

What you'll do:

  • Provides routine gynecological and obstetrical care for women. Performs annual physicals, health maintenance screenings and orders immunizations. Performs prenatal and postnatal check-ups.
  • Orders and interprets diagnostic studies and lab work for OB/GYN patients. Differentiates normal from abnormal findings through the physical exam as well as the review of baseline histories and systems. Orders and interprets lab work and other diagnostic studies for GYN patients. Develops and implements a plan of care that may include prescribing medications and/or other treatments.
  • Provides complete pre-natal care including abdominal and pelvic exams. Educates women and families about natural family planning, childbirth options, nutrition, and other issues related to pregnancy and childbirth
  • The midwife provides obstetrical management and attends deliveries of hospital-patients presenting at or over 35 completed weeks of pregnancy.
  • Collaborates with the on-call MD regularly and/or as needed. May refer patient to MD or subspecialty physicians if patient needs are found to be more complex than the midwife is licensed to treat
  • Prescribes medications, treatments or procedures as needed and within the scope of hospital privileges.
  • Provides care for patients with moderately complex pregnancy-related or gynecological problems. Diagnoses and determines course of treatment for such problems.
  • May perform designated office procedures such as NSTs, AFl's, endometrial biopsies, Bartholin Word Catheters, skin biopsies and colposcopies with appropriate training and certifications.


What you'll bring:

• Current registration in the State of NH as a Registered Nurse.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required and authorization to practice in the expanded role.

• Possession and maintenance of DEA license.

• Two years of experience with strong preference for experience as a Nurse Midwife within an OB/GYN setting.

• Must maintain hospital privileges

• Certifications per unit requirements: Refer to Education, Credentialing and Certification Policy

• Possession and maintenance of a current license to practice as a professional nurse in NH
