Child Care Assistant - St. Peter's Home Day Care Center

Who you are:

As a Child Care Assistant for St Peter's Home Child Care Center (part of Catholic Medical Center), you will play a vital role in implementing daily, weekly, and monthly lesson plans, contributing to the creation of a positive and nurturing classroom environment. Your responsibilities will include maintaining cleanliness, assisting with sanitization procedures, managing classroom behaviors, and collaborating with other staff members to uphold a professional work atmosphere.

This is per diem position (on an as needed basis).

What you'll do:

• Collaborate with lead and associate teachers to implement engaging lesson plans that promote children's development.

• Ensure a clean and orderly classroom, including regular disinfecting and sanitization to create a safe space for children.

• Assist teachers in managing classroom behaviors through effective guidance techniques such as redirection, balanced activities, planned transitions, and logical consequences.

• Work with other staff to create a positive work environment, role model healthy interactions, and seek guidance from administration when needed.

• Monitor and ensure that child/teacher ratios adhere to state guidelines, reporting any concerns immediately to administration.
