Clinical RN

WHO YOU ARE:

A Clinical Registered Nurse (RN) who provides direct patient care in various healthcare settings while also often specializing in a specific area of clinical expertise. Clinical Nurses work in hospitals, clinics, outpatient facilities, and community health organizations. They may also take on leadership or educator roles within the healthcare team.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  1. Patient Care:
    • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
    • Monitor and assess patients' health status through vital signs, medical history, and ongoing assessments.
    • Administer medications, treatments, and procedures following hospital protocols.
    • Coordinate patient care with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, therapists, and specialists.
    • Provide patient and family education regarding treatments, procedures, and care plans.
    • Ensure patient safety and promote healing by adhering to clinical standards.
  2. Clinical Expertise:
    • Utilize specialized knowledge in areas such as critical care, oncology, pediatrics, surgery, or emergency care.
    • Stay updated with the latest clinical guidelines, procedures, and evidence-based practices.
    • Participate in or lead specialized clinical procedures, such as wound care, IV therapy, or dialysis.
  3. Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation in accordance with healthcare standards.
    • Report and communicate patient conditions to physicians, nurse managers, and other members of the healthcare team.
    • Record patient data, progress, and interventions in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  4. Collaboration and Teamwork:
    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including doctors, therapists, pharmacists, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive care.
    • Serve as a resource for other nurses and healthcare staff by providing guidance, support, and education.
  5. Quality and Safety:
    • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and ensure patient safety.
    • Adhere to infection control policies and procedures.
    • Identify and report any safety hazards, adverse events, or risks to patient care.


WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred, Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted with experience.
  • Licensure: Active RN license in the state of practice.
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required; specialty certifications (e.g., CCRN, CEN, ONC) may be required depending on the area of practice.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting (depending on role); specialty experience preferred.
