EEG Tech - Per Diem

Who You Are:

Catholic Medical Center is seeking an experienced and compassionate EEG Technician with a strong background in performing standard and complex EEG recordings, evoked potentials, and video monitoring. They are detail-oriented, technically skilled, and committed to delivering high-quality care to a diverse patient population, including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. They thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and are adept at working with both patients and healthcare teams to ensure the best possible outcomes.

What You'll Do:

  • Conduct standard EEG tests, including electrode application, calibration, and adjustments. Ensure accurate and timely data collection.
  • Execute non-preprogrammed montages, intraoperative EEG, and tests for patients with unpredictable behavior as ordered by physicians.
  • Carry out complex evoked potential recordings and long-term video EEG monitoring using Telefactor equipment.
  • Prepare and educate patients on EEG procedures, ensuring their comfort and understanding throughout the process.
  • Accurately enter patient data into the SMS computer system.
  • Inventory Management: Verify inventory levels and reorder supplies as necessary.
  • Develop and manage the department's monthly schedule, ensuring all shifts are covered and communicated with the switchboard.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment, maintain a clean work environment, and participate in safety drills and emergency preparedness.


What You'll Bring:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree in Clinical Neurophysiology preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience in EEG testing, including standard EEG, evoked potentials, and video EEG monitoring.
  • Registered EEG Technician certification is preferred. BCLS (Basic Life Support) certification is required.
  • Proficiency in operating EEG equipment and video monitoring systems.
  • Ability to deliver patient care tailored to various age groups and conditions.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact effectively with patients, physicians, and staff.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage scheduling and inventory.
