WHO YOU ARE:
As an Emergency Room Registrar, you will be responsible for registration of patients entering the Emergency Department and some other areas of the hospital for outpatient services.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
• Gather, verify and enter accurate demographic and financial data on patients registered either at the registration station, via bedside using Windows on Wheels or using manual forms.
• Provide patients with information required by federal mandates, i.e., Patient Rights and Responsible, Advance Care Directives, and if applicable discharge messages from Medicare.
• Understand and complete the Medicare secondary payer questionnaire for all Medicare primary and secondary insurance holders.
• Focus on customer service, treating patients and all staff in a courteous and professional manner.
• Promptly answers all phones and can direct patients to the correct locations if needed.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING:
• High school diploma or GED.
• One year experience in a hospital, medical office or insurance company.
• Computer experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Able to work independently within assigned guidelines.
