This position is per diem status, on an as needed basis.

WHO YOU ARE:

As a Certified Medical Assistant, you play a crucial role in providing top-notch patient care. Your responsibilities include assisting providers in patient administration, supporting examinations, procedures, diagnostic studies, treatment, and dressing changes. You'll follow the highest standards set by the Joint Commission, government regulations, and the policies and procedures of Catholic Medical Center.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Prepare for Appointments: Review charts before patients' scheduled appointments, ensuring everything is in order, including completed lab work and diagnostic procedures.

Patient Vital Signs: Obtain and record patient vital signs, current medications, height, weight, and blood pressure. Update problem lists and document interactions in the medical record.

Urgent Attention: Recognize and report relevant information requiring urgent attention.

Examination Assistance: Direct patients to examination rooms, assist in preparing them for examinations, and inform providers of their arrival and readiness for examination.

Provider Support: Assist providers with patient examinations and procedures. Obtain patient charts in response to phone calls and address patient care needs with providers.

Medication Prior Authorizations- In person or Remote

WORK SCHEDULE:

This full-time position operates Monday through Friday, totaling 40 hours per week. Occasional flexibility may be required for evening or weekend shifts based on the practice schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduate from an approved Medical Assistant Program.

CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) certification.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

One year of related work experience in a medical office (preferred).

Medication Prior Authorization experience preferred.
