Nursing Assistant - Cardiovascular Surg Unit

This is a full time 32 hour, day status position, with weekend and holiday rotation. The hours are 7:00am-3:00pm

What You Will Do:

As a Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) at Catholic Medical Center's Cardiovascular Surgical Unit, you will play a crucial role in the delivery of quality patient care by performing a variety of technical components essential to patient safety and well-being. Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing direct patient care activities within the scope of Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) practice, as defined by the State Board of Nursing and organizational policies.

• Assisting healthcare providers with selected patient care activities or tasks as appropriate.

• Reporting observations, symptoms, and changes in patient condition to the Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.

• Responding promptly to patient call bells, performing patient rounds, and communicating effectively with staff to meet patient needs.

• Supporting patients and families in addressing psychosocial needs and cultural preferences.

• Assisting patients with activities of daily living, including ambulation, transfers, range of motion, and personal hygiene.

• Participating in patient admission processes and ensuring patient privacy and dignity.

• Performing Electrocardiograms (EKGs), Capillary Blood Glucose (CBG) monitoring, and other designated technical procedures as directed.

• Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team and maintaining positive relationships with patients, families, and coworkers.

• Participating in quality monitoring activities, restocking supplies, and maintaining equipment cleanliness.

• Adhering to safety principles, infection control protocols, and organizational policies and procedures.

What You Will Bring:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Current registration as a Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) in the State of New Hampshire.

• Basic computer keyboarding and data entry skills required.

• BLS certification required; must obtain prior to completion of orientation, not to exceed 21 days from date of hire.

• Must maintain BLS certification throughout employment.
