Pharmacist

Who you are:

As a Pharmacist at Catholic Medical Center, you are committed to providing optimal pharmaceutical care. You excel in a dynamic healthcare environment, demonstrating proficiency in assessing, responding, and adapting treatments to meet the specific needs of the patient population. Your ability to establish positive working relationships, while collaborating and working cohesively with Pharmacy Technicians, healthcare professionals, and other departments within the hospital contributes to the overall success of the Pharmacy Department.

What you'll do:

  • Review and verify provider medication orders, ensuring dosing accuracy, interactions, compatibility, and overall appropriateness of therapy.
  • Provide updated drug information to hospital staff and patients, and participate in the management of distribution, inventory, purchasing, and accountability of controlled substances.
  • Compound and/or dispense medications, intravenous solutions, and chemotherapy medications in compliance with state and federal rules and laws.
  • Monitor drug therapy for contraindications, incompatibilities, allergies, dosing errors, adverse reactions, and overall appropriateness of therapy.
  • Review patients' home medication lists for accuracy and appropriateness, intervening when necessary.


What you bring:

  • Must have a degree in Pharmacy from an institution accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education.
  • One (1) year of previous pharmacy experience is preferred.
  • Must have a New Hampshire license to practice Pharmacy.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships within the department and with other hospital departments, patients, employees, regulatory agencies, vendors, and the public.
  • Ability to plan and perform a wide variety of duties requiring general knowledge of policies and procedures applicable for that area. Requires considerable judgment to work independently toward general results, devising methods, modifying or adapting standard procedures to meet different conditions, making decisions based on precedent and policy.
