As a Sleep Technologist, you'll play a vital role in conducting sleep studies, analyzing results, and supporting individuals with sleep disorders. Your compassion and strong problem-solving skills make a meaningful difference every day in enhancing our patient's lives!
What you'll do:
- Perform sleep studies in accordance with physician orders, including home sleep studies, and demonstrate proper usage to patients when necessary.
- Score sleep stages, identify sleep apnea, hypopnea, periodic limb movements, and recognize EEG and EKG abnormalities and artifacts.
- Apply and adjust CPAP therapy according to established procedures.
- Calibrate and maintain sleep monitoring equipment, including pulse oximeters, monitors, and defibrillators.
- Develop and maintain communication with physicians involved in ordering or interpreting tests.
- Conduct patient interviews, document relevant data for sleep study reports, and monitor blood pressure pre and post-study.
- Maintain accurate records of sleep studies and results following American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) standards.
What you bring:
- Certification as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist.
- New Grads welcome!
- One year of experience in sleep testing preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Ability to provide compassionate care tailored to diverse patient needs.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Willingness to learn and grow in a dynamic healthcare environment.
- Flexibility to adapt to varied work schedules.
- Knowledge of sleep testing procedures and equipment.
- Enthusiasm for making a positive impact on patients' lives through quality sleep care.
