POSITION SUMMARY:
To provide high quality, efficient, cost-effective, and state of the art medical services for the Physician Practice Associates department at Catholic Medical Center. Evaluates and assess pati ent's needs and manages of all aspects of patient care to attain the delivery of efficient, cost effective, quality care. Foster a positive work environment for staff conducive to professional growth, accountability and autonomy. Creates and maintains a warm and friendly atmosphere for patients, Catholic Medical Center Health staff, referring and staff physicians, and visitors.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses and treatment for a specified patient population.
2. Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions.
3. Refers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate.
4. May manage the daily operations of a specific medical program, patient care unit, or outpatient office
5. Directs and coordinates the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required.
6. Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
7. Maintain Practice on-call schedule as agreed to by PPA
8. May provide hospital coverage for designated specialty as agreed to by PPA
9. As appropriate to the position, participates in specified health promotion, education and/or prevention programs.
10. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Individuals must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities and to possess the necessary physical requirements, with or without the aid of mechanical devices to safely perform the essential functions of the job:
1. Ability to deliver patient care in a manner that is appropriate to the demographics and/ or specific needs of the patient population served.
2. Demonstrates proficiency in assessing , responding and adapting treatment of care to meet the
Needs of the patient population served.
3. Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly.
4. Ability to wear safety glasses, gloves, gowns, masks and other safety equipment as necessary.
5. Ability to endure periods of heavy workload and stress.
6. Ability to work with frequent interruptions and respond appropriately to unexpected situations.
7. Ability to accept constructive feedback and initiate appropriate actions to correct situations.
8. Ability to maintain good communications; ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with employees, physicians, patients, families and the public.
9. Working knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT coding and insurance procedures.
10. Requires the ability to utilize and navigate electronic clinical documentation system in order to enter patient data.
11. Basic computer keyboarding and data entry skills required.

WORK SCHEDULE: A full-time work schedule is equivalent to a minimum of 36 patient contact hours per week with eight administrative hours. Schedules may vary from 4 to 4.5 days per week depending on the number of hours worked each day.

Education:
- Graduate of an accredited school of medicine. Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine required (DO).
Experience:
- Proven experience as a physician with strong understanding of examination methodologies and diagnostics including interpretation and evaluation of symptoms.
- Medical doctor with 3 to 5 years of directly related experience, which may include residency in a directly related medical specialty.
Licensure/ Certification:
- Board Certified in Specified Area of Medical Specialty or Board Eligible with successful completion of boards within two (2) years.
- Current NH state license DEA Certification
