What You'll Do:
- Verify patient addresses and insurance eligibility using electronic verification systems during Emergency Department registrations.
- Collect appropriate fees, including copayments, from patients or their representatives at the point of discharge (via check, cash, or credit card).
- Discuss financial options with patients who have no insurance coverage.
- Maintain a daily activity log to track all patient interactions.
- Assist in screening patients for Medicaid or charitable care assistance as necessary.
What You'll Bring:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of one year of collection experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Ability to handle sensitive financial discussions professionally and empathetically.
- Bilingual skills preferred but not required.
