What You'll Do

In this dual-role position, you will play a crucial part in ensuring smooth operations both at the front desk and in clinical settings. Your responsibilities will include:

Front Desk Operations:

  • Patient Interaction: Greet and register patients, verify their information, and handle insurance details.
  • Administrative Duties: Manage appointment schedules, answer phone calls, and maintain patient records in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
  • Confidentiality and Compliance: Ensure patient confidentiality, adhere to HIPAA regulations, and manage medical record requests.


Clinical Support:

  • Patient Preparation: Prepare patients for examinations, obtain and record vital signs, and assist with diagnostic procedures.
  • Clinical Assistance: Support providers with medical procedures, operate medical equipment, and handle prescription processing and prior authorizations.
  • Maintaining Clinical Areas: Ensure that clinical areas and exam rooms are clean, stocked, and organized.


What You Bring

To succeed in this role, you will need:

Education and Certification:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduation from an approved Medical Assistant program.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Medical Assistant Certification (must be obtained through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) within the first year of employment).


Experience:

  • One to two years of experience in a healthcare setting, including clerical, billing, or insurance processing.


Skills and Abilities:

  • Multitasking and Prioritization: Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT coding, insurance procedures, and EMR systems.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with patients, providers, and team members.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to manage a heavy workload, endure periods of stress, and handle physical tasks related to patient care and office operations.
  • Attention to Detail: Precision in documenting and processing patient information and maintaining confidentiality.

  • Ability to work with frequent interruptions and respond appropriately to unexpected situations.
