Certified Medical Assistant - Bedford Center Internal Medicine & Pediatrics

You are committed to maintaining high standards of professionalism and confidentiality while supporting both patients and providers.

What You'll Do:

  • Assist providers during patient examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary preparations are completed.
  • Obtain and record patient vital signs, medical histories, and relevant information before appointments.
  • Administer medications and vaccinations under provider direction and in accordance with practice guidelines.
  • Conduct various diagnostic tests (e.g., hearing, vision, EKG) and accurately document results.
  • Monitor patients during and after procedures, responding effectively to any complications or emergencies.
  • Prepare and sterilize instruments, maintain cleanliness in clinical areas, and ensure proper handling of lab samples.
  • Schedule appointments and follow-up procedures as necessary, while maintaining patient confidentiality and complying with HIPAA regulations.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities and assist in the training of new staff members.

What You'll Bring:

  • Graduation from an approved Medical Assistant program.
  • One year of related work experience in a medical office setting.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA
  • CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) certification required within one year of hire if hired after 2012.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with patients and team members.
  • Proficiency in electronic clinical documentation systems and basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
