Speech Language Pathologist - Inpatient

Who you are:

As a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) at Catholic Medical Center, you are passionate about helping our patients/families/caregivers in a time of crisis. You understand that you, along with the interdisciplinary care team, are laying the foundation for their successful recovery as they transition from inpatient care to the home or other care setting.

This is a Per Diem position.

What you'll do:

  • Conduct assessment and diagnosis of speech and language-related issues
  • Develop individualized treatment plan to address communication, speech, or swallowing disorders; modifying treatment based on patient progress and feedback.
  • Provide direct supervision of the Rehab Aide when assisting in the implementation of the Speech Therapy treatment plan with the patient
  • Direct and assist patients in therapeutic interventions that include, but not limited to:
    • Disorders and related disorders of speech, articulation, fluency, voice, verbal, cognition, communication, swallowing and oral, pharyngeal or laryngeal sensory motor competencies
  • Instruct patient/family/caregiver on proper swallowing techniques and exercises.
  • Actively participate in a variety of discharge meetings (nursing unit, family, team, case management).
  • Provide recommendations regarding recommended discharge disposition as well as the need for additional rehabilitation services after discharge for the facility


What you'll bring:

  • Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology
  • Must be licensed in the State of New Hampshire as a Speech-Language Pathologist by the NH Office of Licensed Allied Health Professionals.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech/Language and Hearing Association required (you must be a CCC-SLP)
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
