Pathology Technician II

Who you are:

As a Pathology Laboratory Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the Pathologist and Cytotechnologist in various laboratory tasks. Your compassion, attention to detail and collaborative spirit all make a meaningful difference in the patients we see in our community.

What you'll do:

  • Handle and prepare pathology specimens, conduct quality control procedures, and provide administrative support to ensure efficient laboratory operations.
  • Assist in preparing equipment, maintaining staining areas, and conducting quality control procedures while demonstrating meticulous attention to detail in preparing and processing specimens, conducting quality control procedures, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Collect and track specimens, enter patient registration information accurately, and respond to client inquiries.
  • Act as a point of contact for clinician requests for immediate inter-operative procedures including frozen sections and FNA requests. Direct requests for immediate intraoperative services to the appropriate Pathologist or Cytotechnologist.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, colleagues, and clients, ensuring that information is conveyed accurately and compassionately.


What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and pathology operations.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in laboratory procedures and records.
  • Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and computer systems, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, contributing to a positive and supportive work environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with patients, colleagues, and clients.
