Certified Surgical Tech (Per Diem) - Operating Room

Who You Are:

Catholic Medical Center is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to assist in delivering exceptional perioperative care to patients. You are a collaborative professional who thrives in a fast-paced surgical environment, working closely with surgeons, anesthetists, and registered nurses to ensure procedures are performed efficiently and safely. With expertise in sterile techniques and surgical instrumentation, you anticipate the needs of the surgical team and provide critical support to optimize patient outcomes.

What You'll Do:

  • Secure supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures based on patient needs.
  • Prepare the operating room using sterile techniques.
  • Anticipate and respond to surgeons' needs, demonstrating knowledge of their preferences.
  • Follow scrubbing, gowning, and gloving protocols to maintain a sterile environment.
  • Perform needle, sponge, and instrument counts with the registered nurse.
  • Assist surgeons with draping the sterile field and provide instrumental support during procedures.
  • Prepare instruments for terminal cleaning and assist with patient transfers from the operating room table.
  • Function as a preceptor for new staff and students as needed.
  • Promote efficient turnover between cases and actively contribute to departmental goals.
  • Monitor and guide students and ancillary staff in their care delivery.


What You'll Bring:

  • Graduate of an approved Surgical Technologist program.
  • Previous operating room surgical experience preferred.
  • Surgical Technologist certification with ongoing maintenance of certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Current registration with the New Hampshire Board of Medical Technicians.
